Inspired by David Hockney’s “The Rake’s Progress” series of etchings and Robert Motherwell’s early “The Homely Protestant”. Begun before my U. S. Air Force duty and finished soon after.

Inspired by University of Iowa MFA Gene Matthews’ “Many Pitts” painting below. And using Maurico Lasansky’s single plate printing technique of yellow ochre 1st then black ink 2nd printing sequence.

Note: The next three etchings were conceived while working as a janitor in an off-campus University of Colorado building that housed the women’s dance department.
